We deserve to be seen.

I have been sitting in a kind of hibernation lately. Months that feel like decades. A slow, quiet circling inward that I did not notice at first. Until I did. Until it started to feel tight; almost like I had been holding my breath for far too long.

I have been hell-bent on not being perceived. On staying small and telling myself to wait. Just wait for the right moment. Until it feels safer. Wait until the noise inside my head settles down. That seemed like the “smart” thing to do.

But the truth is, the longer I waited, the louder it became.

Ideas pressing at the edges. Galleries asking to be shared. Stories and humans that mattered deeply to me, sitting in the dark. I wanted to scream. Instead, I swallowed it down.

There is a voice that shows up when you try to make yourself more digestible. It tells you to be quieter. To soften your edges. It says to stay out of sight. And before you know it, that voice becomes a vice. It wraps itself around your body. It pulls you inward. And tells you this is safety.

But it feels like suffocating. And recently I’ve been waking up to realize: we deserve to be seen.

Then Erin stepped into this space.

This session lit my whole soul on fire. Not only because of the trust she placed in me. Not only because of the way she unraveled so honestly in the quiet interplay of light and shadow, draped in her black lingerie. But because she chose to do this after years of telling herself no. Years of holding beliefs that said maybe someday. Maybe later. Maybe when things feel different. I saw my own voice echoed in hers.

But she and I both realized: We Deserve to Be Seen

And that’s when the magic starts to unveil itself.

There was a moment where all of those old words lost their grip. Where everything she had been carrying melted away and settled into the photographs instead. You can feel it when you look at them. That release and determination. A deep, embodied yes.

I am in awe of the way Erin showed up for herself that day. Fully. Bravely. Without apology.

Sessions here are not performative. They are cathartic. It’s a physical, real-time letting go. A reminder of what it feels like when energy moves through you instead of staying trapped. When the body speaks before the mind has time to interrupt.

This is where choosing yourself feels less like a leap and more like coming home.

Not someday.

Not when XYZ happens.

Not after everything else is handled.

You deserve to feel this good right now. You deserve to take up space… deserve to breathe deeply again. And always, we deserve to be seen.

Empowering Session at The Studio | New Hampshire Boudoir Photographer

An empowering session begins the moment you decide to show up for yourself. Not polished. Not perfect. Just open to this experience washing over you… and changing you. This session was exactly that. A woman stepping into the studio with curiosity and bravery, ready to see what might unfold if she lets go and trusted the process.

From the start, the mood was intimate and intentional.

Imagine this… soft light moving across the room. Shadows hugging the walls. Textures layering in the space. From the fur throws, to rumpled sheets, warm wood floors, and tall windows… the tone is set.

Everything invited stillness, depth, and feeling. I’ve curated this space, and it’s made for slowing down and sinking in. You are meant to meet yourself here.

This client’s outfits reflected that same honesty. She opted for classic black lace lingerie to start. We threw on an open white button down part way through. We let her tattoos shine, because they each tell a part of her story. And that is what we are doing here: storytelling.

Each look flowed into the next, allowing her to move naturally and respond to how her body wanted to be seen.

At the end, we decided to bring out her guitar. This is a personal and bold prop that showed off her unapologetic side. It became an extension of her presence, not just a prop but a symbol. She held it like she owned the room, because she did. What a badass.

An empowering session will transform from the inside out.

As the session unfolded, something shifted within my client. She melted into the experience, while insecurities loosened their grip. Strength rose quietly and steadily like a wave cresting. This is a kind of confidence that does not need to be loud to be felt. The kind that stays with you long after the photos are delivered and hung on your walls.

But don’t take my word for it. Here is what she shared afterward, in her own words:

“Hannah is beyond incredible.. when you walk into her studio she’s happy and excited and so inviting. She’s great at talking to you about what you want and what to wear and what will make your day perfect. The moment the shoot starts her energy level is at a 100 she’s cheering you on making you feel like you are the most beautiful woman in the world. All your insecurities melt away and this inner strength comes out. THEN when you see the pictures… the first thing that comes to mind ‘is that freaking me!?!’. Hannah is beyond talented. I will be going back and I will tell everyone about her. Thanks again Hannah for making me feel like a million bucks, I’m forever grateful.”

This is what happens when trust meets artistry.

Unbranded Sessions | New Hampshire Boudoir Photographer

I want to introduce you to The Unbranded Session Experience; an extension of Hannah Mac Studios that I am so excited to bring to you this year.

Here’s the thing; there are moments when a photoshoot becomes more than a photoshoot. It becomes a reclamation. As a New Hampshire boudoir photographer, I have captured hundreds of women stepping into their power. And I have had a growing vision to offer these special photo shoots that are beyond the scope of boudoir. I wanted to have shoots in the studio that capture your essence.

Introducing The Unbranded Session Experience.

Let me show you what I mean. This featured client below was one of our first official Unbranded Sessions in the studio, and from the very first frame, her energy filled the space: magnetic, grounded, and wildly unapologetic. Each outfit, each pose, each glance was an act of embodiment.

In a sleek black bodysuit and denim, she carried herself with ease and confidence. Relaxed in the chair one moment, stretching into her strength the next. There was this quiet power in the way she met the light, unafraid to take up space. Later, wrapped in flowing lace, she softened. A blend of vulnerability and grace that felt timeless and raw.

As an emotion-rooted photographer, I was there to catch every detail: the lines that tell her story, the jewelry that jingled like a collection of stories, the way she breathed through each shift in emotion.

And that’s the beauty of the Unbranded Session. It isn’t about performing for the camera, or curating an image for anyone else. It’s about you. Who you are beneath the titles, roles, and every day responsibilities. These sessions are not boudoir in the traditional sense (though they are often equally intimate and transformative). While boudoir leans into exploring sensuality and self-liberation though connection with our bare skin, Unbranded Sessions go deeper, but in an entirely different way. They’re creative explorations of identity, expression, and power. A place where you can unravel all of the layers, and show up as the you that maybe you haven’t even seen before. The “who I am/ who am I,” that you’ve stashed away to keep close to your heart, but feels like might just burst from your skin. And that might explore sensuality, but it might also encompass liberation, or defiance, or determination; survival, revival, or all of the above.

At Hannah Mac Studio, every one of these shoots is a collaboration. An intuitive flow between subject and artist. There are no rules, no molds to fit into. You might dance barefoot across the floor, curl into stillness on a wooden stool, or disappear into a cascade of flowers and fabric. You’ll find yourself guided by light, emotion, and intention rather than a script. And I’ll be there prompting & capturing you along the way.

By the time we wrapped, it was clear: this wasn’t just a gallery of portraits. It was a mirror. A visual story of resilience and beauty, captured in black and white. Honest, unfiltered, alive.
